Ask any parent and they can tell you: babies require a lot of stuff. In addition to bottles and diapers, there are booties, sweaters and blankets – just to name a few things.  Fortunately for new parents who may struggle in providing basic necessities to their children, there is a group of retirees willing to lend a hand.

Stitches from the Heart, a club comprised of residents at Covenant Shores, a faith-based, not-for-profit, continuing care retirement community administered by Covenant Retirement Communities, handcrafts one-of-a-kind baby hats, booties, sweaters and blankets for families in need.

YOFiMeter™ to Connect Glucose Meter with AT&T

Connected Glucose Meter Wirelessly Transmits Patient Data to Caregivers
January 5, 2015  AT&T1 and YOFiMeter™ have reached an agreement that will enable people with diabetes to wirelessly transmit their blood sugar levels, other biometric data and voice notes. Once cleared by the FDA, the YOFiMeter Connected Glucose Meter will open another line of communication between caregivers and patients over AT&T’s highly secure network.

YOFiMeter works with a diverse team of endocrinologists, practitioners, healthcare institutions, patients and other stakeholders to create a device with a “clean slate” approach, a device that fits into their lives without disrupting it.
“YOFiMeter believes in a ’clean slate’ approach to connected health devices, making it easier for patients to fit into their lives without disruption,” said Gad Shaanan, inventor and founder of YOFiMeter. “The fundamental thought was not to invent technologies for testing, but to invent a new experience of testing, recording and tracking data.
“Today’s blood glucose meters require multiple steps

AT&T Renews Multi-Year Exclusive Connected Car Agreement with BMW

Now Expanded to Include Infotainment Features
AT&T* is continuing to bring high speed internet to BMW vehicles in North America as a part of an extended multi-year exclusive agreement. Since 2008, AT&T has powered BMW’s ConnectedDrive services and apps. Through a new agreement, we also will connect BMW “infotainment” features such as a Wi-Fi hot spot.
Beginning with the all-new BMW 7 Series, BMW customers now have the option of a Wi-Fi hot spot powered by AT&T’s 4G LTE network.* The Wi-Fi hot spot can be easily accessed through a device such as a smartphone or tablet, which is automatically directed to AT&T’s new online Wi-Fi portal, powered by Ericsson.  In the portal, users can activate a free Wi-Fi hot spot trial, buy a data session for their vehicle and manage their Wi-Fi account.
